Week 3 - Lecture on fashion capitals, seasons and categories. We were given a crash course on how to do cut and paste digitally. I wanted to try both digital and manual and used the following supplies to experiment manually and Photoshop for digital.
Second time drawing croquis figure
Week 4: Lecture on fashion history. One of my designs using manual cut & paste . Put together with washi tape at first to avoid irreversible mistakes.
(Lecturer said it was a decent first attempt. Advised to start to label the parts of each piece. However, I do not know much terminology and will choose to wait for next week's lecture.)
Week 5: Compiling all 10 pieces here with description.
(Feedback given: Could use a headpiece)
Shape/Silhouette Proportion.
Inspired by jellyfish. Shaped like a jumpsuit, fitting the proportions of the model used.
Shape/Silhouette Disproportion.
Inspired by flowers. Made to look like a bouquet rather than a form fitting dress. The skirt is an upside down rose bloom.
Line Proportion.
Inspired by sunshine rays. Lines are straight and smooth, leading in one direction.
(Feedback given: Add smaller flowers to make picture look smoother)
Line Disproportion.
Straight lines of the skirt are interrupted by flower blooms and a ruffled collar.
Texture proportion.
Inspired by dreams. Entire outfit is made of clouds, soft and fluffy.
Texture Disproportion.
Mix of goth and cottage-core aesthetics. Different jacket and skirt materials used together.
Colour Proportion.
Inspired by anime. Pink and white colour scheme to make a type of Japanese and western superhero outfit.
(Feedback given: Add smaller flowers to make picture look smoother)
Colour Disproportion.
Use of bright orange and purples on top of a black and white photograph to stand out.
(Feedback given: Could be improved)
Texture Proportion.
Used a model and colour paper pasted manually and then photoshopped pieces of clothing on top to improve. Everything is bright and plaid.
Shape/Silhouette and Texture Disproportion.
Inspired by daydreams as well. Using various types of blue, white and iridescent pictures to make a gown with a wide skirt and wing-like neckline.
